Introductory community consultation now completed

The North Falls introductory online consultation on the project’s proposals to date closed on 10 December 2021, having been live since 25 October 2021.

The consultation received around 80 responses both via the consultation portal and through direct communications. It was promoted to the local community via media releases, digital and display advertising with the Clacton and Frinton Gazette (including social media banners), and printed leaflets delivered to 46,000 addresses. Direct emails were also sent to local and statutory stakeholders and those who have registered an interest in the project.

The proposals that were consulted on will remain online for reference. They include background information on the project, rationale for its development, a summary of the consenting process, scoping and the project proposals so far – for both the onshore and offshore elements.

The feedback received is now being collated and reviewed, and the consultation portal will be updated in early 2022 to include a summary of the key issues and input received from  consultation respondents.

There will be a number of future opportunities to comment on the evolving North Falls project proposals, with consultations, including statutory consultation, due to be held in 2022 and 2023. The aim is for these consultations to be a mix of both online and face-to-face , to give people the widest opportunity to have their say on the evolving proposals.
